Willi Ninja, also known as William Roscoe Leake, was a prominent American dancer and choreographer celebrated for his contributions to voguing and ball culture. He rose to fame through his distinctive dance style, a fusion of Fred Astaire’s classic moves and haute couture influences, showcased prominently in the documentary film Paris Is Burning. Ninja’s exceptional talent led to collaborations with various dance groups and choreography opportunities. He further demonstrated his abilities by starring in the music video for Malcolm McLaren’s “Deep in Vogue.” Tragically, Ninja’s career was cut short by complications from AIDS in 2006.
