Warren Christopher was a prominent American attorney and diplomat who held key government positions. He served as Deputy Attorney General under President Lyndon B. Johnson and Deputy Secretary of State under President Jimmy Carter. Christopher chaired the Christopher Commission, investigating the Los Angeles Police Department. As Secretary of State under President Bill Clinton, he played a significant role in expanding NATO, brokering peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and negotiating the Dayton Agreement to end the Bosnian War. He later oversaw the Gore campaign’s Florida recount effort following the disputed 2000 presidential election.
