Wanderlei César da Silva, a Brazilian former mixed martial artist, left a lasting mark on Japan’s Pride Fighting Championships and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Renowned for his remarkable accomplishments, Silva holds multiple records in PRIDE, including most wins, knockouts, title defenses, and the longest winning streak in the organization’s history. He was crowned the former PRIDE Middleweight Champion and the winner of the 2003 PRIDE Middleweight Grand Prix Tournament. Silva also competed in the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions for Bellator MMA. In recognition of his contributions, he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame’s “pioneer wing” in February 2024.
