VVS Laxman is a former Indian cricketer and cricket commentator known for his elegant stroke play as a right-handed middle-order batsman in Test cricket. He currently serves as the Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy and is the head coach of the India Under-19 and India A teams. Laxman has played 100 Test matches and was a member of the Indian team that won the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy. He has been recognized as one of Wisden’s Cricketers of the Year and has received the Padma Shri award. Laxman has also played domestic cricket for Hyderabad and Lancashire, captained the Deccan Chargers in the IPL, and mentored the Sunrisers Hyderabad team.
