Timothy Francis Donaghy is a former professional basketball referee who officiated in the NBA for 13 seasons. He worked in 772 regular season games and 26 playoff games before resigning in 2007 due to a gambling scandal. Donaghy was investigated by the FBI for betting on and affecting the point spread in games he officiated. He pleaded guilty to federal charges in 2007, resulting in a 15-month prison sentence. After serving time in prison and a halfway house, he was released in 2009.
