She holds world records for 25 and 30 kilometers and previously held the world marathon record. Loroupe was the first African woman to hold the marathon World Record and is a three-time World Half-Marathon champion. She has achieved numerous victories in marathons around the world, including the New York City Marathon, London, Rotterdam, Hong Kong, Berlin, and Rome. Additionally, she organized the Refugee Team for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
