Syd Barrett co-founded the legendary rock band Pink Floyd in 1965 and was the original frontman and primary songwriter. Known for his whimsical psychedelia style, unique singing voice, and stream-of-consciousness writing, Barrett was also an influential guitarist, incorporating free-form techniques and innovative effects in his playing. After leaving Pink Floyd in 1968, he briefly pursued a solo career before retiring from music in 1972. Barrett then focused on painting and gardening until his passing in 2006.
