Susan Polgar is a Hungarian-American chess grandmaster renowned for her accomplishments in the chess world. She held the title of Women’s World Chess Champion from 1996 to 1999 and attained the top rank among female chess players globally at the age of 15. Awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 1991, she has excelled at the Women’s Chess Olympiad, winning numerous medals. Polgar is actively involved in chess as a trainer, writer, and promoter, overseeing the Susan Polgar Institute for Chess Excellence (SPICE) and organizing tournaments to foster the growth of young players. Moreover, she advocates for women’s chess as the Chairperson of the FIDE Commission for Women’s Chess.
