Sol LeWitt, an American artist associated with conceptual art and minimalism, gained recognition in the late 1960s for his wall drawings. He preferred to call his works “structures” rather than sculptures. LeWitt created art prolifically across various mediums including drawing, printmaking, photography, painting, and installations. Since 1965, he has been the subject of many solo exhibitions globally. In 2019, Wesleyan University Press published the first biography of LeWitt, titled “Sol LeWitt: A Life of Ideas” by Lary Bloom.
