Simidele Adeagbo is a pioneering Nigerian skeleton racer who made history as Nigeria and Africa’s first female skeleton athlete. She is also the first black female Olympian in the sport. In addition to her success at the Winter Olympics, Adeagbo demonstrated her skills by winning the woman’s mono bob event at the 2022 EuroCup in Germany, making her the first African athlete to achieve victory in an international sled race. Before her skeleton career, she participated in triple jump.
