Sima Qian, a Chinese historian of the early Han dynasty, is known as the father of Chinese historiography. He authored the Records of the Grand Historian, a detailed account of China’s history spanning over two millennia. Despite challenges such as castration and imprisonment, his commitment to finishing this monumental work remained unwavering. Sima Qian occupied the esteemed role of Grand Historian at the imperial court and was eventually recognized as Lord Grand Historian for his significant contributions to historical writing in China.
