Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan was an Indian Army officer serving in the 51 Special Action Group of the National Security Guard on deputation. He showed exceptional bravery and dedication during the November 2008 Mumbai attacks, ultimately sacrificing his life to protect others. His courageous actions and selfless service represented the highest ideals of military professionalism. In recognition of his extraordinary valor and gallantry, he was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award.
