Samuel Kennedy-Warburton, OBE MStJ, better known as Sam Warburton, is a retired Welsh international rugby union player. He played for Cardiff Rugby and the Wales national team, primarily as an openside flanker but also at blindside. Warburton served as captain for Wales in various matches and tours, including the 2011 Rugby World Cup and the British & Irish Lions tours in 2013 and 2017. He held the record for most Wales caps as captain before retiring in 2018 due to injuries after a successful professional rugby career.
