Sam Simon was an accomplished American television producer recognized for his work on co-developing The Simpsons. He began his career as a storyboard artist at Filmation Studios and later served as a showrunner for the sitcom Taxi. Simon contributed as a writer and producer for various shows such as Cheers and also penned the 1991 film The Super. Additionally, he ventured into managing a boxer to a championship, playing poker, and establishing the Sam Simon Foundation, which offers free veterinary services and rescues shelter dogs. In 2012, Simon was diagnosed with cancer, and upon his passing in 2015, he generously bequeathed his estate to charities.
