Saint Joseph, venerated as a saint in various Christian denominations, is known for his role as the legal father of Jesus. He is regarded as the patron saint of workers and is associated with different feast days. Pope Pius IX declared him as the patron and protector of the Catholic Church. Joseph is also revered for his purity and chastity, being referred to as “most chaste.” He is depicted in religious iconography with lilies or spikenard and has been granted canonical coronation for several venerated images.
