Saïd Aouita, the former Moroccan track and field athlete, is celebrated for his remarkable achievements in middle and long-distance running. He is notably the only athlete in history to have won medals in both the 800 meters and 5000 meters at the Olympic Games. Aouita secured victories in the 5000 meters at the 1984 Summer Olympics and the 1987 World Championships, as well as in the 3000 meters at the 1989 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Additionally, he set world records in various distances, including the 1500 meters, 2000 meters, 3000 meters, and 5000 meters.
