Karl Roland Freisler was a German jurist and politician who played a significant role in the Nazification of Germany’s legal system. Serving as the State Secretary of the Reich Ministry of Justice and later as President of the People’s Court, he promoted Nazi ideology through his work. Known for his aggressive demeanor in court, Freisler oversaw the prosecution of political crimes and frequently imposed the death penalty on defendants. His influence on German law can still be seen today in the definition of murder under Strafgesetzbuch § 211.
