Richard Wright was an English keyboardist and songwriter renowned for co-founding the progressive rock group Pink Floyd. He played a key role in nearly all of the band’s albums and tours. Initially known for his songwriting and singing, Wright later concentrated on arranging music by fellow band members Roger Waters and David Gilmour. Although he departed the band after The Wall tour in 1981, Wright returned as a session musician in 1987 and became a full-time member again in 1994. His unique keyboard style and jazz influences were fundamental to shaping the distinctive sound of Pink Floyd.
