Richard Burns was an accomplished English rally driver who achieved success in the World Rally Championship. He won the championship in 2001 and was the runner-up in 1999 and 2000. Burns played a key role in securing the world manufacturers’ title for Mitsubishi in 1998 and Peugeot in 2002. Throughout his career, he was teamed up with co-driver Robert Reid. Burns holds the distinction of being the only English driver to have won the World Rally Championship, leaving a significant mark on the sport.
