Rashid-al-Din Hamadani(Leader)

Birthdate: 1247 AD
Birthplace: Hamedan, Iran
Died: July 18, 1318
Rashid al-Din Hamadani was a prominent figure in the Ilkhanid court, known for his contributions to Persian historiography. He served as the chief vizier and historian, commissioned by Ghazan to compile the Jāmiʿ al-Tawārīkh, a comprehensive chronicle spanning from the Mongols to his time. Rashid collaborated closely with Bolad, a Mongol nobleman, and managed a team of calligraphers and illustrators at Rab’-e Rashidi in Qazvin. Despite controversies over authorship, Rashid’s lasting impact is seen in his documentation of cultural exchanges and the historical transition from the Mongol to subsequent empires.
