Prosper Bazombanza is a prominent Burundian politician who has held various significant roles throughout his career. He has a background in engineering, having graduated from the University of Burundi. Bazombanza has experience serving as a governor of Mwaro Province and as the First Vice President under Pierre Nkurunziza. He has also worked in leadership positions at institutions such as the National Social Security Institute and the Insurance Regulatory and Control Agency. In June 2020, he was appointed as Vice President of Burundi by President Évariste Ndayishimiye.
