Owain Glyndŵr was an educated lawyer who led a 15-year-long revolt against English rule in Wales during the late Middle Ages. He formed the first Welsh parliament under his rule and was the last native-born Welshman to claim the title Prince of Wales. Glyndŵr’s rebellion included successful castle sieges and battlefield victories, gaining control of Wales in 1404. He resisted English rule through guerrilla warfare tactics until his death in 1415, becoming a mythical folk hero in Welsh culture.
