Known as “The Golden Boy of boxing,” he earned this nickname for his achievements in the 1992 Summer Olympics. In 2002, he established Golden Boy Promotions, making history as the first American of Mexican descent to own a national boxing promotional firm. Additionally, De La Hoya expanded his ventures by entering the realm of promoting MMA matches starting in 2018.
