Neel Kashkari is an American banker, economist, and politician who has played key roles in government and finance. Notably, he served as the interim Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Stability during the Financial crisis of 2007–2008, where he oversaw the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). Kashkari started his career as an aerospace engineer and later transitioned to investment banking at Goldman Sachs. He also worked at Pimco before entering politics, including a run for Governor of California in 2014. Currently, he is the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
