He founded planetary climatology, demonstrating the relationship between celestial mechanics and Earth sciences. As a distinguished professor and director of the Belgrade Observatory, he also worked as a structural engineer and supervisor on various reinforced concrete constructions throughout Yugoslavia, holding multiple related patents.
