His works, including “The White Guard” and plays like “Ivan Vasilievich, Flight” and “The Days of the Turbins,” depicted the horrors of the Russian Civil War and the challenges faced by Russian intellectuals and Tsarist Army officers during the revolution and its aftermath. Despite some of his works being banned by the Soviet government, Bulgakov’s literary contributions are still celebrated today.
