Bernard “Midget” Farrelly was a pioneering Australian surfer known for his significant contributions to the sport. He was the first world surfing champion in 1964 and also won the 1962 Makaha International Surfing Championships. Farrelly was the inaugural president of Australia’s Dee Why Surfing Fraternity and hosted a television series titled The Midget Farrelly Surf Show. His legacy is celebrated through inductions into halls of fame and posthumous awards.
