Michael Powell, a celebrated English filmmaker, collaborated with Emeric Pressburger to establish The Archers production company. Together, they produced a range of iconic British films such as “The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp,” “Black Narcissus,” and “The Red Shoes.” Despite facing harsh criticism initially, Powell’s film “Peeping Tom” is now considered a classic and an early representation of the slasher genre. His work has left a lasting impact on many filmmakers, and he received the BAFTA Fellowship in 1981, shared with Pressburger.
