Mette Frederiksen is a Danish politician who has been the Prime Minister of Denmark since June 2019. She has been the leader of the Social Democrats since June 2015. Frederiksen began her political career as a trade unionist and was elected to the Folketing in 2001. She has held several ministerial positions, such as Minister of Employment and Minister of Justice. In the 2019 general election, she led her party to victory and formed a coalition government, continuing as Prime Minister.
