Career
Martin Kenzie began his professional journey as a production runner for ‘Picture Palace Productions,’ a London-based TV commercial company. Later, he worked in the camera department at the ‘Samuelson Film Services.’ In 1980, he served as an assistant cameraman for the horror ‘The Shining.’ Till 1984, he served as a second assistant cameraman for a number of movies, such as ‘Return of the Jedi,’ ‘Never Say Never Again,’ ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,’ and ‘A Passage to India.’
From late 1980s to the early 1990s, Kenzie worked as a first assistant cameraman for several successful big-screen projects, such as ‘Willow,’ ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit,’ ‘White Hunter Black Heart,’ David Fincher’s ‘Alien 3,’ and ‘The Godfather Part III.’ He debuted as a cinematographer in the year 1998, with the short flick ‘Angels at My Bedside.’ During the 1990s, he served as a camera operator for various films, such as ‘Shadowlands,’ ‘Hamlet,’ ‘Incognito,’ ‘The Avengers,’ ‘An Ideal Husband,’and ‘The World Is Not Enough.’
In 2001, Kenzie contributed to the miniseries ‘Band of Brothers.’ This was followed by his cinematography in ‘Dinotopia’ and ‘Keen Eddie.’ In 2005, he worked as a cinematographer for the British–American–Italian TV drama ‘Rome.’ That year, he also worked as an assistant director for the geopolitical film ‘Syriana.’ From 2006 to 2011, Kenzie contributed to several films as a second unit director. His projects of that time period include ‘Wild Child,’ ‘Dorian Gray,’ ‘The King’s Speech,’ ‘Clash of the Titans,’ and ‘Johnny English Reborn.’ Then, in 2012, he worked as cinematographer for four episodes of ‘Game of Thrones’ and two episodes of ‘Playhouse Presents.’
In 1998, Kenzie joined the ‘British Society of Cinematographers.’ He started as a camera operator and later progressed to be a director of photography. In 2012, he was elected a full member with a ‘British Society of Cinematographers’ accreditation.

Martin Kenzie was born on April 29, 1956, in Cambridge, England, UK.
He was diagnosed with cancer in the later years of his life. Following this, received aid from ‘Macmillan Cancer Support,’ one of the largest charities in the country. He eventually breathed his last on July 16, 2012. He was 56 at that time.
