He is known for his achievements in the UFC and Pride Fighting Championships, becoming the UFC Heavyweight Champion, winning the UFC 10 and UFC 11 tournaments, and claiming the Pride Fighting Championships 2000 Open Weight Grand Prix title. Coleman pioneered the ground-and-pound strategy in MMA and is hailed as “The Godfather of Ground & Pound.” In wrestling, he excelled internationally, being a World Championship runner-up, Pan American Games Gold medalist, and NCAA Division I National Champion.
