Marguerite Alibert, known by various aliases, had a multifaceted career. Starting as a courtesan in Paris, she later attracted the prince of Wales and had an affair with him. After marrying Egyptian aristocrat Ali Kamel Fahmy Bey, she was frequently called a princess by the press. In 1923, she gained notoriety for her involvement in a fatal incident at the Savoy Hotel in London where her husband was killed.
