She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and holds the record for the most World Championships victories among women in biathlon. Neuner was the youngest biathlete to win the Overall World Cup title at the age of 21 and retired at 25 with 34 World Cup wins. She was also known for her speed in cross-country skiing and her sometimes erratic shooting performances. Throughout her career, Neuner was a dominant force in biathlon, winning multiple gold medals at World Championships and being recognized as one of Germany’s most popular female athletes.
