Maajid Usman Nawaz is a well-known British activist and former radio presenter recognized for his efforts in combating extremism. He played a pivotal role as the founding chairman of the think tank Quilliam and has been a vocal opponent of Islamism in the United Kingdom. Nawaz is the author of “Radical: My Journey out of Islamist Extremism” and co-authored “Islam and the Future of Tolerance” with Sam Harris. He also dabbled in politics by standing as a Liberal Democrats parliamentary candidate in the 2015 UK general election.
