Leon Redbone was a singer-songwriter and musician celebrated for his jazz, blues, and Tin Pan Alley classics. Sporting his distinctive Panama hat, dark sunglasses, and black tie, he made his debut on stage in Toronto during the early 1970s. Redbone entertained audiences with his guitar-playing prowess and comedic flair, often humorously referencing alcohol and playfully claiming authorship of older works. He had a particular affection for music from the Tin Pan Alley era (circa 1890–1910) and lent his voice to the theme song of the TV series Mr. Belvedere. Over his career, he produced 18 albums and made appearances in various acting and voice-over roles in both film and television.
