Kathleen Lynn was an Irish Sinn Féin politician and doctor who dedicated her life to addressing poverty and disease in the west of Ireland. She pursued a career in medicine after studying in England and Germany, eventually graduating from the Royal University of Ireland. Upon returning to Ireland, she became the first female doctor at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital. In 1919, she founded Saint Ultan’s Children’s Hospital, making a significant contribution to healthcare in Ireland.
