Juha Lauri Laukkanen is a retired Finnish javelin thrower known for his impressive personal best throw of 88.22 metres achieved in 1992. Throughout his career, Laukkanen gained notoriety for unfortunate incidents where two of his throws resulted in injuries to officials. In the 1994 Bislett Games in Oslo, a judge was impaled in the arm by his javelin, and in 1998 at an athletics festival in Germany, another official was seriously injured when Laukkanen’s throw pierced him in the stomach.
