Judith Resnik was an accomplished American engineer, pilot, and astronaut known for her significant contributions to electrical engineering, software engineering, and biomedical engineering. Throughout her career, she worked on various projects in the fields of Navy missile and radar systems at RCA, served as a senior systems engineer at Xerox, and conducted research on integrated circuitry. Resnik was selected by NASA as a mission specialist and was part of the first astronaut group that included women. She played a crucial role in developing software for NASA missions and operating the robotic arm during her space flights. Tragically, Resnik lost her life in the Challenger disaster in 1986.
