Joyce Chen was a renowned Chinese-American chef, known for popularizing northern-style Chinese cuisine in the US. She coined the name “Peking Raviolis” for potstickers and invented a flat bottom wok with handle, for which she held a design patent. Additionally, Chen developed the first line of bottled Chinese stir fry sauces for the US market. Her contributions to American cuisine were significant, and she operated popular Chinese restaurants in Cambridge, Massachusetts before her passing in 1994.
