José Torres, a highly accomplished professional boxer from Puerto Rico, achieved success in the WBC, WBA, and lineal light heavyweight divisions. His victory over Willie Pastrano in 1965 solidified his status as a top boxer. Torres also excelled in the amateur arena, winning a silver medal at the 1956 Olympic Games. Under the mentorship of renowned trainer Cus D’Amato, he honed his skills and technique. Torres was honored for his achievements with an induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1997.
