Jon Frederic Cole was a celebrated athlete known for his remarkable achievements in powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, and strongman contests. He set numerous world records in squatting, deadlifting, and Total categories, earning him the title of the “strongest man in the world.” Among his notable accomplishments are being the first person to total 2200 lbs and squat over 900 lbs. Regarded as one of the greatest powerlifters in history, Cole had unparalleled raw powerlifting totals in the 242 and 308-pound weight classes. Additionally, he participated in the inaugural World’s Strongest Man competition in 1977, where he finished 6th.
