John Lurie is a versatile American artist recognized for his contributions to music, film, television, and painting. He co-founded the Lounge Lizards jazz ensemble, appeared in various films, composed music for diverse projects, and produced and starred in the Fishing with John TV show. Lurie earned a Grammy Award nomination for his Get Shorty soundtrack and critical praise for his album The Legendary Marvin Pontiac: Greatest Hits. Despite health challenges, he has shifted his focus to painting, with his art showcased worldwide, and created the series Painting with John. In 2021, he published a memoir titled The History of Bones.
