He hosted PBS television programs focusing on addiction, recovery, codependency, and spirituality. Bradshaw popularized concepts like the “wounded inner child” and the dysfunctional family. As an author, he wrote six books, with some becoming New York Times bestsellers, including Homecoming, which reached No. 1. He also served on the board of directors of the Palmer Drug Abuse Program and was the national director of the John Bradshaw Center at Ingleside Hospital in Los Angeles, California.
