Joe McGinniss Sr. was an acclaimed American non-fiction writer and novelist renowned for his works in true crime and political journalism. He garnered fame for his bestselling book, The Selling of the President 1968, which examined the marketing tactics of presidential candidate Richard Nixon. McGinniss also established himself with a trilogy of popular true crime books – Fatal Vision, Blind Faith, and Cruel Doubt – that were later made into TV miniseries. His last book, The Rogue, centered on former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.
