Joe Johnson is a former professional snooker player who turned professional in 1979 after achieving success as an amateur. He became a commentator for Eurosport and reached his first ranking final in 1983. In a surprising victory in 1986, he won the World Snooker Championship as a 150–1 outsider, defeating top players like Steve Davis. Johnson also reached the final in 1987 but lost to Davis. He retired from professional competition in 2005 due to injury and later won the 2019 Seniors Masters on the World Seniors Tour.
