Career
At the age of seventeen, Jessie Decker realized her singing style needed honing as she struggled to earn a recording contract from any major label despite auditioning for two years. She consulted Carla Wallace of the independent label Big Yellow Dog Music and started working not only on her singing style but also on her lyrics. Soon her songwriting improved and one of her songs ‘Gypsy Girl’ was pitched to American Idol contestant and the eventual winner, Carrie Underwood. It exposed Decker to a wider audience and she soon signed a contract with Mercury Records. The producers wanted to give her music a more ‘pop-like’ sound and even made her work with hip-hop producers despite Decker wanting to be a country singer.
Her eponymous first album was released on August 11, 2009, and it charted at number 23 on the Billboard 200 in the United States. It recorded sales of 18,575 copies in the debut week and 120,000 copies in total. The album received mixed reviews and was awarded two out of five stars in the ratings by ‘Slant’ and ‘Sputnikmusic’, while ‘Allmusic’ gave it a three-and-half stars rating out of five. The album had popular singles like ‘Wanted’, ‘I Look So Good (Without You)’, ‘My Cowboy’, and ‘Blue Jeans’.
After the release of her debut album, Decker released four extended plays between 2014 and 2017. The first EP ‘Comin’ Home’ was released on April 18, 2014, and it charted at number five on Billboard’s US Country Chart. Her third EP ‘Gold’ also debuted at number five on Billboard’s US Country Chart.
Her second studio album ‘Southern Girl City Lights’ was a huge hit. It was released on October 13, 2017 through Epic Records and recorded sales of 21,000 album-equivalent units within a month. It debuted at number one on the Top Country Albums chart and at number 18 on the US Billboard 200. The album had several popular singles including ‘Southern Girl City Lights’, ‘Almost Over You’, ‘All Filled Up’, ‘Flip My Hair’, and ‘Pretty Girl’.
Decker has also appeared on television alongside her husband Eric Decker. The couple was featured on the reality television show named ‘Eric & Jessie: Game On’ which premiered on ‘E!’ Jessie James Decker was also the executive producer of the show which ran for three seasons.

Jessica Rose James was born in Vicenza, Italy, on April 12, 1988, to a military family. Decker has two siblings, a sister named Sydney Rae Bass, and a brother named John James. She married NFL wide receiver Eric Decker on June 22, 2013. The couple has three children together. They welcomed their first child and only daughter Vivianne Rose on March 18, 2014, followed by their first son Eric Thomas Decker II on September 3, 2015. Their third child Forrest Bradley Decker was born on March 31, 2018.
