Renowned for his daring driving approach, he was famously known as “Hunt the Shunt.” Starting his career with Hesketh Racing, he later transitioned to McLaren, where he captured the World Drivers’ Championship in 1976. Hunt then moved to the Wolf team in 1979 but chose to retire midway through the season following a string of disappointing races. Following his retirement, he served as a media commentator for the BBC until his tragic passing.
