Sir James Brooke, a British soldier and adventurer, established the Raj of Sarawak in Borneo and served as its first White Rajah from 1841 until his passing. Renowned for his efforts in suppressing piracy, reinstating the Sultan of Brunei, and facing scrutiny in the British Parliament for his anti-piracy tactics, Brooke received recognition for his contributions in Southeast Asia. He was also celebrated for his hospitality and accomplishments during his time as White Rajah.
