Jacklyn Harold “Jack” Lucas, an American Marine, demonstrated extraordinary courage during World War II, receiving the Medal of Honor at 17 for sacrificing himself to protect his fellow soldiers from enemy grenades. He later served in the United States Army and achieved the rank of captain. Lucas became the youngest Marine and serviceman in WWII to be awarded the Medal of Honor for his courageous actions on the battlefield. In 2023, the USS Jack H. Lucas was commissioned in honor of his legacy.
