He led the Portland Trail Blazers to win the 1977 NBA championship and later worked as a broadcaster for teams such as the Indiana Pacers and the Miami Heat, as well as for ESPN TV and ESPN Radio. Ramsay was widely regarded as one of the most esteemed coaches in NBA history and received multiple awards, including the Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award.
